Este es el grupo de locos que llevamos a buscar dulces ayer 31 de octubre. Es una nueva experiencia para nosotros el buscar dulces de tienda en tienda en la Ditmars Blvd. en NY. Mis hijos, los Shadow Troopers, lo gozaron mucho junto a sus primos (el fantasma y Miss Candy Corn, que no salió en la foto). ¡El de la nariz de payaso es el abuelo (mi papá) que se lo gozó más que los nenes y hasta le dieron dulces!
Los demás no salimos en las fotos porque usamos nuestro disfraz de uso diario y ¡temía que se pudieran espantar al vernos!
La tarde estuvo fría y con viento, pero esto no opacó lo mucho que nos divertimos viendo a cientos de familias disfrazadas de todo tipo de personajes y artefactos como ipods y zafacones (cestos de basura). Esta es una de las ocasiones favoritas de mis hijos porque ellos se pasan disfrazados en la casa y esta es la oportunidad para 'legalmente' salir a la calle con los disfraces.

Gracias a Living Rich with Coupons por recomendarme estos disfraces de Shadow Trooper en buycustomes.com. Sólo costaron $4.99 cada uno y fue emocionante para ellos esperar un paquete por correo. Así que compré dos por el precio de uno, o si queremos ponerlo de otra manera, compré los disfraces al precio que me compraban los míos en Woolworth en los años 80. ¿Se acuerdan que venían en cajas?
Ahora, ¡a comer dulces por el resto de la semana!

ENGLISH VERSION
This is the group of crazy people that we took out yesterday on Halloween. It is a new experience for us to go from store to store to look for candy in the Ditmars Boulevard in NY. My children, the Shadow Troopers, enjoyed it a lot with their cousins (the ghost and Miss Candy Corn, who is missing in the picture). ¡The one with the clown's nose is their grandfather (my dad) who enjoyed it more than the kids and even got candy!
The afternoon was cold and windy, but this does not overshadow how much fun we had watching hundreds of families dressed in all sorts of characters and gadgets like ipods and garbage cans. After Christmas, this is the their favorite 'celebration' because they spend the rest of the year dressed up at home, and this is their opportunity to 'legally' go out with their costumes.

Thanks to Living Rich with Coupons for recommending these Shadow Trooper costumes from buycustomes.com. They only cost $4.99 each and it was exciting for them to expect a package in the mail. So I bought two for the price of one, or if we want to put it in another way, I bought the costumes at the price I bought mine at Woolworth's in the 80's! Do you remember that they came in boxes?
We will be eating candies for the rest of the week!
